Kent Covey ( one of our Hibernian brothers from Our Lady of Knock Division and head of the Irish Heritage Center here in Cincinnati). had surgery this Monday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. My understanding is they removed about 18 inches of his intestine and a mass that they believe is a slow growing cancer, which normally gets treated by hormones. He should get the final results of the test results today or Friday, and he is hoping to go home today or Friday. Maureen Kennedy, his wife, is worried about him, but Kent says he's not worried, and he looked and sounded good today. Mo would like everyone to pray for Kent and for good results for the tests.
I received a phone call from Joanne Cassidy tonight. She told me she had been in the hospital for eight days. She is at home now on the mend and waiting for a break in the weather so she can get out a little. She told me she could use all the prayers we could give. This wonderful lady is the first to pray for others so please pray for an improvement in her health and in the weather so she can go out.
Pray for anything that is blocking Jennifer and john from being together to be removed so there relationship can get back on track because they really do love and care about each other. Let them both forgive each other for how they have treated each other at times,God Give each of them big signs to guide them back together...
Please pray for the soul of James P. Quinliven, his wife, Kathy and his family. Jim was a first generation Irish American. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and a long time member of the Toledo Irish American Club, He attended most of the Irish events in Toledo and could always be counted on for a good conversation. Rest in Peace, Jim and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. God bless

John Mohr asks us to please add an insurance associate and very good friend of mine (and Jennies), Lou Kollias, of Elkhart, IN, now living in Indianapolis with his son. He has a rare (but rarely fatal) ailment called Guillain/Barre Syndrome. It effects only about 2 people in 100,000. You are very familiar with these things, like Jennie. I could not even spell it but I told Jennie and she knew just what it was. Lou is about 3 years older then me, and a great guy. He sounded very upbeat on the phone, His son is an orthopedic surgeon, so he is getting the best of care. He exercises every day and has a special diet, and takes meds, for other things, but there is none for this, but it can be reversed and or slowed down.
Please say some prayers for Andy. He is a wonderful young man with a wife and two delightful children. His job was eliminated and he is looking for employment in the Toledo area.
Pete Doyle, Ohio State webmaster asks for prayers for his Aunt Jean. She is far along in the years and the sweetest woman I have actually ever met. This message came from Pete’s cousin in Minnesota: "I find it so hard to believe what the body can take. Pete Doyle's Aunt Jean has not had food or water in 6 days. She has a 103 temp, low blood pressure and very short shallow breaths. Pete's cousin is spending another night by her bedside. Praying she is soon in the arms of Jesus and his Mother Mary." Please pray for an end to Jean’s suffering and strength for her family and friends.
