Edward also worked, concurrently with his teaching duties, for the Catholic Youth Organization. He coordinated the basketball programs, including venues, officials, and players. He developed strategies, which enabled young students to learn how to officiate the C.Y.O. games. Many of these students went on to officiate high school and college games. Ed was inducted into the Northwestern Ohio District Basketball Officials' Association in April, 2000. He was very proud of this recognition. His career in refereeing lasted 41 years. In addition to all of this, he also played the organ at Good Shepherd Church and for the Mud Hens games and the Goaldiggers hockey games. While teaching, refereeing, and organizing sports, he also cared for his father, then his mother, in their declining years. God bless you Ed and thank you for all you did for others.
